"Weep no more, my lady, oh! weep no more today!

We will sing one song

For the old Kentucky Home,

For the old Kentucky Home, far away."

My Old Kentucky Home, Good-night!

Hey everyone! Sorry for the wacky delayed post, but this weekend was full of distraction and I just couldn't find the time. The week started with a much needed Golden Day Off for the whole company in Daytona Beach, Florida! I managed to get some sun, dipped a toe in the freezing cold Atlantic Ocean, and came in last place at mini golf. After our last show in Florida on Tuesday, the show made a stop in Asheville, North Carolina, and the next day we made our way to Lexington, Kentucky. It was in Kentucky that we did six shows over four days, so we had plenty of time off to explore the area and relax a little bit. More importantly, the crew got some days of rest away from the venue and didn't have to break their backs loading in and out for a while.

Most of my time in Lexington was spent hanging around my new favorite place on Earth, Chaotic Good: Coffee, Comics and Games. This place was amazing, and only a fifteen minute walk from our hotel on the way to the theater. They of course serve coffee and pastries, but they also had shelves of Dungeons & Dragons books and dice, a few comic books, playing tables laid out for card games, Warhammer 40K sets... it was Nerd Heaven. They even had a Tekken 8 tournament going on a big TV with over twenty players Saturday afternoon. I made a point to walk over every morning to get coffee, often meeting up with a few castmates to discuss our upcoming D&D campaign. I also found time to play Commander with my roomie and a few strangers between shows. I mean it, folks, I lived there for four days.

It's been said by a few of the locals that Lexington is the nicer part of the state, but having seen what small town Kentucky has to offer, like Owensboro and Paducah, I respectfully disagree. There's an exciting nightlife and a fantastic community of artists, and I've relished every time we've come here. Everyone helping out and working the shows has been so sweet and accommodating, it's unreal. Must be that Southern hospitality I've heard so much about. I mean, just LOOK at the cake the Lexington Opera House prepared for us! I've told Heidi many times how I'd love to come back here with her and give Kentucky a proper visit.

This week, we go to upstate New York and Massachusetts before our week long layoff. Thankfully, Binghamton is just under three hours away from Jersey, and the lovely Heidi gets to come to the show tonight! I'm beyond excited for her to see the show and to be with her again, even just for half a day; I miss her and stuff.

And scene.
